About Us
Your Training Health and Safety was founded in 2018 by Pete Smith Tech IOSH.
Your Training Health and Safety is a Registered Training Provider for Qualsafe Awards and the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
We are proud to offer companies the opportunity to discuss their business health and safety needs, assessing the legal requirements for employers for their particular industry. From health and safety policies, risk assessments to training; we ensure that your business is meeting the HSE requirements.
We have provided health and safety advice and training to businesses/employees from the following industries: Building Maintenance, Care, Care Equipment, Catering, Cleaning, Environmental, Facilities Management, Grounds Maintenance, Hospitals, Office Environments, Printing, Security, Transport, Waste Collection and Management, Angling Supplies, Window Installations/Home Improvements and Maintenance.
Having exposure to all of these areas and working with employees at all levels, we are experienced in adapting our delivery style to ensure all delegates understand what they are there to learn and in a way that suits them best. Here at Your Training Health and Safety, we will also work with you to adapt training to meet the bespoke needs of your business.
Although based in Norfolk, we cover the surrounding counties (and sometimes further). We also offer online training for a number of courses.
Pete Bali-Smith – Founder, Health and Safety Consultant and Trainer.
Pete holds the NEBOSH General Certificate alongside the Level 3 Award in Education & Training and has been working in Health and Safety since 2006.
Experienced Health and Safety Consultant and Trainer able to provide training in Qualsafe Awards, the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), Highfields Training (HABC) and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) courses. In addition to teaching a range of certified courses, Pete also writes and delivers bespoke in-house training to meet a client's needs.
Pete is also an Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) for Qualsafe Awards.
Anita Bali-Smith – Mental Health First Aid Instructor
Anita holds the Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid Instructor and Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
Anita has been working within a county social care team, assessing those with mental health and physical disabilities since 2014. Anita will help your staff to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to actively promote positive mental health in the workplace.

Important Courses Employers should consider
First Aid at Work & Emergency First Aid - The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.
First Aid at Work Annual Refresher- HSE guidelines state that employers should ensure their first aiders remain competent to perform their role. As such, it is strongly recommended that first aiders undertake annual first aid course refresher training to practise their skills and update their knowledge on the latest first aid procedures.
H&S in the Workplace - This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with a basic introduction to health and safety in the workplace, including the role that everyone plays in maintaining a safe working environment.
Principles of Manual Handling - This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop their understanding of the principles of safer manual handling.
Safe Moving & Handling - The law states that employers have a legal responsibility to provide adequate training for those who perform manual handling tasks in their day to day role. However, with incorrect manual handling causing over a third of workplace injuries, adequate training is not only a legal requirement, it is incredibly important for the safety of all staff.
Fire Safety Awareness - This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop their fire safety awareness to help ensure that they are keeping themselves and others safe at all times in the workplace.
Fire Safety - This regulated and nationally recognised qualification allows Learners to build an understanding of fire safety management and the specific roles and responsibilities related to fire safety in the workplace.
